Re: Greg McCary in serious accident

Nora, my apologies for not being around PR. I've kept Greg in my prayers. You both are amazing and I'm thrilled to read up on all of his great progress.

    Blessings to you both.

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident

Greg will be leaving Shepherd's on TUESDAY!!! We've both been afraid to post it in case something comes up, but he's doing so well, keep your fingers crossed and say an extra prayer. More good news: Halo is off, trach is gone and Greg is walking unassisted. He is working on endurance but I know that will come in time.

Greg says he feels like a bird being kicked out of the nest. LOL. He will continue to do great. I think of the inspiring photo freygr posted of the eagle with wings spread wide against the sky and I think Greg is an eagle and soon he will soar.

God bless you all continually and Greg and I are so grateful for the outpouring of love and concern you have given us. Good begets good and all the good you have given will come back to you. I thank God for all of you.

News just keeps getting better and better, Nora.
Since I didn't hear from you, I sent Ruffus on to freygr but it appears to be for the best now.

This is literally the best news I've heard in a while (much-needed best news, I might add). Greg's progress has been inspiring - a wonderful reminder that good things - even miracles - can happen. I look forward to the day that you (or he) log(s) on to post that he is back in full swing!

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident

I would again like to thank all of the PR members that have given support, prayers and well wishes. This is a great site and I am proud to be a member. For all that wanted to know what happened, well here is a picture of the Millam Bridge where I fell. After taking this shot I went back across a gap between the bridge and bank to swap out cameras, as I was getting back onto the bridge my footing slipped and down I went. You can see the river below but there was quite a distance from me to the water when I landed.
I am well on my way to recovery, I just need to work on my strength and endurance. Hopefully that will come. Thanks again for all of the support it means alot.....

Great to see you are back up and in business again Greg. I think that shot you posted of the bridge is one of the most expensive shots you are ever going to take. I think I would be tempted to frame that one.

Greg, great to see you posting! What an awesome shot and just from the photograph i can see how tricky that must have been. You know, if you had not gone through and over the bridge you would have always regretted not going to get the shot you wanted.
I'm real glad to see that your recovery has come along as well as anyone could have hoped for.
    Looking forward to more.
