Up front I should say I found this on the 'net. It was taken by a local photog, but the site doesn't specify which one (there's a short list but no single photog is credited with this pic). But I will not take credit for it. I haven't been in a plane for like 22 years. Here's the link to the original site: http://www.redwoodcoast.biz/fototour/lkearl.html
I will, however, take credit for the little yellow dot. Underneath that dot is my house. The whitish blob on the far right is Pelican Bay State Prison. The large bodies of inland water are Lake Earl and the smaller portion on the left is Lake Tolowa. Both are actually coastal lagoons, but they're named lakes. That's kind of how things go around here. The body of water on the far left is Pelican Bay. The Pacific Ocean.
This is only a small portion of my playground. Redwoods to the left, ocean to the right, rivers and lakes and wilderness and trees and more green than you can stand. Whales and egrets and Aleutian Geese and surfers and hot rods and huge salmon and bears and elk and hiking trails and kayaking and long walks picking agates on the beach--- Where to begin? And where do I sign up for that great National Geographic photog job?
Wish you all were here!![]()
