Hadn't caught this thread before...
Camera used: Sony a700
Main cards (both currently in camera): 8gb RiDATA 233x. CF & 8gb Sony MS PRO Duo Mark2
Notes: These are for general shooting, but will swap CF card to the 4gb Adata 266x card. (30mb/s read, 23mb/s write on my Lexar USB reader)
Main back-up: 8gb RiDATA 233x CF
Other cards in my bag:
- 4gb Adata 266x CF
- 2gb SanDisk Extreme III (v1)
- 2gb Lexar MS Pro Duo
Even with a slow card, I rarely shoot continuous bursts of more than 9 frames, so the slow write speed of the dual layer RiDATA cards doesn't bug me. Their read speed is as advertised near the 233x mark, and that's where I don't like to waste time. However, both the old Sandisk and Adata cards are noticeably faster at clearing the buffer..
I'm afraid to say it out loud, (knocking on wood) but I've had no quality issues with these CF cards. I format after every use and never run the camera to 0% battery when shooting, so that may help...
