Starting to dislike it. Discovered I had my first corrupt set today. Lost photos from the weekend :mad:

Notes:
1GB gets me about 100 RAW shots on my 8MP DSLR. I'm starting to require more. Costco always has a good deal on SanDisk but I'll be looking for SanDisk Extreme next time to get the free recovery software.

Love them all, mostly the Ridata since I got it pretty cheap and it was worked perfectly. It is also really fast with my D2h

Ultra II CF 2x512mb, 1x1gb, 1x2gb. Love 'em. Fits what I need plus a ton more. Usually don't need that much space before I can clear them. plus a 32mb card for WBing.

Whatever isn't full :-)

6 x Kingston Elite Pro 1Gb. They each hold 61 RAW images - this is about right for me for my longer trips. If I start running low I just switch to JPEG.

I do it all the time. The cameras just put the images in different folders, but oddly enough in the same main folder - DCIM. My 1D ii creates a 100EOS1D folder, and most of the consumer level canons default to 100CANON as the initial folders within the DCIM folder. My Samsung will create a 100SSCM folder withing the DCIM folder, but so far no problems. The Canon cameras have no problem playing back images from other Canon cameras, but images from my Samsung NV10 show up black and white, and the reverse is true when I playback images from the Canon cameras on the Samsung.

^ the 20 or so MB of free space on those kingstons has bailed me out a few times when I forgot my 512mb.

The only thing I don't like is the long download time. About thirty minutes for a 2 gig card.
Other than that I have been happy.

Never had a problem myself with this but I would recommend re-formatting the card in that camera before using it. I did try taking a few shots with my Nikon Coolpix and then putting that same card straight into my Fuji without downloading or formatting. No problems, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I have one el-cheapo basic SanDisk and haven't noticed any difference between it and a 133x Lexar. Life with an older DSLR...

Also have a phony sandisk ultra II that I thought I was getting a great deal on. Live and learn.
No problems with the lexar..haven't used the phony sandisk.
I download and clear the card frequently.

I used my 1Gb card on my 30D and shot RAW last Saturday. I then threw it in my DREBEL later in the week and shot some RAW. Now, I don't have any of the shots from my 30D but the computer knows it is there because it says space is being used but there are no files listed. I can't recommend swapping cards between cameras unless you intend to reformat within the camera first.

They each get me about 315 Raw + Basic JPEG files from my D70s. Never had a problem with either. Never noticed a difference. Never shoot 3fps.

Stored in: Nikon D2X promotional metal/Rubber CF case our very own PhotoJohn brought me from PMA 2005- i've used it ever since then. It's got a few dings and scratches, but it's always brought the cards home.

Love it/ Hate it/ etc. : So far all of my cards have been exceptionally reliable.

Notes:
I put letters on my two Ultra II 2GB cards to tell them apart. I bought a Platinum II instead of an Ultra II again because three would have been too much to bear. I wish I'd waited for the latest price drops this week, as I could have bought a 4GB Extreme III instead.

With 7GB of CF, I rarely fill up all of my cards right now, though sometimes I only have the one spare card if all 3 cameras are in use. If I have a huge shoot, I will bring my laptop and a card reader and clear off a card.

Each 2GB card can hold about 150-180 RAW (NEF Compressed) files from my D200's, or if memory serves over 300 for my D2Hs. In JPEG Large/Fine/Optimal Quality compression, which is what I shoot most of the time with sports, I can get between a theoretical low of 225 (practical low of about 250-260) and 330 shots per card. If I go size priority compression, I can get 350ish. My D2Hs can shoot an entire day in JPEG on one 2GB card and I'll have room to spare.
I'll probably move to higher speed cards with the next camera I purchase, and will likely need 4GB cards.

I have to say, while I love my 6gb microdrive, im fearing the day it dies. Im going to be getting a CF card soon. So far all I have is a 6gb microdrive. It holds 650 RAW files. cant complain! holds over 2k jpegs.

this is nice and cheap, and high speed too. going to probably be my next purchase.

Bah, It works, and it was only like 9$ on Amazon. Which is great, cause thats all I had at the time. Holds about 150 on High JPEG. Which is good enough for me. :)

A 1 and 2 gig Lexar Pro CF in my D200, the old one at 80X, which according to Deckcadet is now the Platinum II. I need a few more.

I think you need a card reader that plugs into a USB2.0 port or a firewire. Something would get broken or not unloaded if any card took vaguely close to that many minutes to unload.

I've got more San Disk CF's than I care to count, but they range from the classic old Red/Blue basics to the ULTRA'S/III in many sizes.

When Shooting with the Canon's (MkII's 1d & 1ds) I usually use 2Gb sizes as they are a convenient tradeoff between capacity and how long it takes to unload them into a notebook.

I generally carry 4 cards and a notebook and unload and review or store on hard drive and CD/DVD depending upon the notebook in use that day.

Some of my other cameras I use 512Mb CF's as then I can just burn a CD-R of the disk contents as immediate backup.

I still have cameras sitting around that used Smart Media and the Fuji Memory Stick and few select items of those oldies! To say noting of SD cards which I really don't like because of their size.

I use gunmetal cases with interchangeable inserts for the various cards that will survive a F350 King Cab rolling over them.

I also really like the Gepe cases in the rain.

Edit: Did not mention that I have used Toshiba standard CF cards (1Gb) with no problem on occasion when I wanted to leave something on the card and hand it to someone else. $30ea. if I recall when I picked some up at an office store one morning. They got a lot of use a couple of summers ago(?) and still are floating around in a case and worked fine. I was shooting outside a couple of events and needed to hand cards off to fulfillment partners who were printing pics and we didn't have a good wireless setup available. Lots of usage and never a failure.
