    Heiva 2009 Raiatea

    Starting around the first week in July and running through the first week in August is the traditional Tahitian celebration for Bastille Day. Heiva
    consists of Sporting Events, Agricultural contests along with Cultural Contests Like Dance, Singing, Drum Groups, Sewing, and about everything a Fair in the US would have with a little South Pacific uniqueness added in for flavor,

    I have over 6,000 shots I took during the last heiva and am busy trying to get everything put together and in their proper folders for the various Dance / Singing Teams.

    Here are a few quickies that I shot of the "local" Group that my daughter and son in law put together last Feb for this years contest...
