Talking Hey Kellybean, Funny You Should Mention That

I'd also do a lot of underwater photography. Right now I have fears of ruining my camera, fears of sharks, fears of my air tank running dry or my air line getting a kink in it ...

A waterspout was spotted in Carteret County today, and yours truly went to see if I could spot it and photograph it! I had the location and the direction it was moving in, but I didn't find it. I think it dissipated before I got there. I've been wanting to photograph a tornado or water spout (a tornado over water) for some time now. One day...

Also, scuba diving is very safe. I've taken some underwater shots before, but it was with a rental camera from the dive shop. I've love to add a Nikonos V to my camera collection, and do some serious underwater photography. :-)

    Sure! Why not?

I've thought it would be interesting to put an ad in the local paper looking for volunteer models for a specific project I have in mind. I'm curious what the response would be like.

    "artistically speaking of course...."

    Of course I understand!

Don't know if I could talk the lovely wife into letting you watch a lingerie shoot. She's posed a few times for me. The first shots were pretty lousy overall. The second set of shots were much better. I'm getting better at it, but I've got a long way to go to get to where Steve and Charles are. Of course, I'll gladly trade photo's for posing if any models want to help me in my artistic endevours. ;-)

Talking I'd like to SHOOT the nekkid girls! :)

Although I was thinking I'd get nekkid pics done when I turn 30. A friend of mine did skydiving, I'm thinking pics.....kind of a welcome to 30 thing.

This says something to me. Even the girls want to photograph nekkid girls!

Not that it comes as a big surprise. Men are (generally) big, hairy, ugly creatures. Women are soft, curvaous, beautiful beings. I love astrophotography. I love airplane photo's. I love a good scenic. But there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING more beautiful to me than a well done photograph of a woman's body. Dressed, semi-nude, or nude, the female figure is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

And apparently, that's not just a male point of view.

    Paris subway line 13

I've been taking this metro line for the past 4 months on the way to my client. Almost every trip I see someone interesting, and the light is good (not as good as on line 1 but it's still an inspiration).

But the metro is a private place so no pictures allowed and I can't take any risks of being late in arriving at my clients office because I've been arrested or been in a fight so I have to leave it.

Todd, I think if you teamed up with a massage therapist and actually offered the massage with the shoot, you might relax your clients and get very good shots! A massage often makes a woman feel beautiful, so you give her a massage, a makeup session, and then a photo shoot, and I think you'd do good business.

While I've never met ANY women who would love to have a nude shot done, I hear they are out there. More than most of us realize.

The whole spa type idea is great. I don't know your market demographics, but it sounds like it would go over well.

It would be totally awesome if you and Nat could do a collaborative effort. Some women would probably be more comfortable with a woman photographer, while others would be more comfortable with a male photographer. Having both available would (or should) add to the appeal of your spa.

I say go for it. And if you guys make bundles of money doing it, so much the better.

    Great thread Trevor!
I might also add that as long as you shoot your nude, naked, or nekkid pics in black & white, they'll be artistic. Same thing seems to go for photos of fruit. Funny how that happens.

Well here in the midwest, (I guess I can't speak for everyone, but...) "nekkid" is sorta the "embarrassed" way to say "without clothes". "Naked" is said by confident people. "Nude" is what the artsy-fartsy people say.

"Being up to something" has a vocabulary all its own.

Black and white + nude = artistic

So, if I convert my nudes to grayscale, they're artistic.

Nekkid, Naked, and Nude mean different things to different folks.

    Embarrassed, Confident, Artsy-Fartsy = Midwest

Up to something, Without apparrel, Artistic = South

Anyone else want to chime in on your regional (or personal) definitions?
