What would you photograph if there were no limits or fears in doing so?

I'd photograph people. I'm not sure if Willem is still around but I'd love to know what goes on in his mind when he photographs those people.

I would take pictures of people, people doing everything. I would just float around the streets and shoot tons and tons of pictures of people doing what they do. I'd also take lots of pictures of children playing. Their expressions are so immediate! They're so focused on what they're doing, and they don't get distracted by the camera.

I would also stop right in the middle of the highway and get out of the car right then and there and shoot what grabs my attention: sunsets, rivers, people, buildings, accidents, horses, cows, hay bales, fog ...

And if there were NO limits? I'd fly, and shoot from angles that are impossible on foot.

I'd shoot animals or enviroments that I don't shoot now because of the danger. Bears, cougars, extreme winters/elevations, ect.

Oh yeah, I'd be a tornado chaser and I'd try to get as close as I could. That is, if there was no fear.

Man, I should really go on a chase some day....

I'd also do a lot of underwater photography. Right now I have fears of ruining my camera, fears of sharks, fears of my air tank running dry or my air line getting a kink in it ...

I've shot the moon. And Mars. Missed Saturn this year, going to try next year. Dinosaurs would be cool, but I believe the intent was the here and now.

    "Lots of naked women."

You, me, and about a million other guys!!!

You said it! That, and I'm a happily married man. Besides, shooting glamour is the highest art form of photography IMHO. It's also the most difficult IMHO. You've got to know lighting, posing, and you've got to the have the proper setting. Most indoor places I've tried have poor and/or busy backgrounds, are too cramped (read, not enough working space), and have poor lighting. Guys like Asylum Steve and Charles Hess make it look easy. If it was easy, everyone would do it. Of course, I'm always willing to give it the old college try. ;-)

    All the big sporting events..

For me the answer would be all the big sporting events, Super Bowl ect. The next thing would be to travel to the exotic lands and photograph the locals everyday life. But the real (NO FEAR) experience would be to shot conflict and war as it unfolds. I still have an old Larry Burrows book from the Vietnam war that has some of the most amazing photographs I have ever seen.

I am not joking one bit either!

I think I'd like to photograph a birth. Right now I would have the fear of passing out (which I tend to do).

Seems kind of boring, but that's what I'd do.

Sign me up for the nekkid ladies too....

Are you saying if I give birth you'd come and shoot it? Cause I think I'm done with that!

I keep telling my wife that I think that there is a market for a photography studio that specializes in tasteful nude/glamour photography in our area. I think if you included features that made it much like a spa -- except without the massage and facial -- you could provide a relaxing and potentially fun environment for it. I am amazed by how many women I have met or known who would love to have a nude shot done.

    No limits?

I'd love to go up in a space shuttle and shoot the astronauts as well as the stars and planets.

I'd love to have access to the Olympic village and all the venues to shoot the athletes.

I wish I had the opportunity ($$$) to go up in a helicopter and do arial shots.

I'd like to shoot a calendar of the 'girls of PR' ... kidding, sort of. Actually, someone else said it above... war. Vietnam. The horror. I'd love to have shot it from both sides.

I'm going to pass on the skydiving. Something about jumping out of a perfectly good plane....really doesn't do anything for me. So my pics will be on the ground.

Wink We Need To Define Some Terms...

Words matter. Maybe it's a regional thing, but here in the south, we differeniate between various terms. Let me explain:

Naked: Means you are without apparel

Nude: Means you are naked, but it's artistic

Nekkid: Means you are naked, but you're up to something ;-)

    Just so we all understand.

    Great thread Trevor!

Come on down! I've got an upstairs bedroom that is 22 feet long, so with a little moving of furniture, we'll have plenty of room. '40's style pinups - you got it. Body studies - sure, why not. And tell Larry he can be my assistant: help with posing, hold my reflector (a small white sheet), etc. Best of all, it won't be Nat, it'll be that "other chick", so it'll be a cheap thrill for him. Leather, lace, silk, whatever, I'm game.

And I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind at all! :-O

    Hhhmmmmm....

For me with it would be go along with some I have no interest in doing but am fansinated by..
That would scuba diving and photographing something cool and scarry like Great White Sharks.

War would be cool too. I have always loved some of the great war photographs from the likes of Cartier-Bresson, Capa, Morris and Peter and David Turnley.
