    Hello
I'm planning on purchasing my wife a Nikon D7100 in the next few days. She has always expressed interest in photography for some time. My plan is for both of us to learn this hobby together.

Welcome from another Sony shooter. I never had a Minolta body, but have some great Minolta glass. Looking forward to seeing some images from the A65. - Terry

    Re: Welcome!!

    Hello,

This last month I reinvested in my Photo equipment. I went out and bought a Canon 5D MKIII, 16-35mm, 28-70mm & 70-200 F2.8 Canon Lenses. I also invested in Adobe Master Suite CS6 and built a PC to do all the work on. Lastly I got the Canon Pix Pro100 printer.

It was time to get back into a hobby I enjoyed for the last 30+ years. My first real 35mm camera was an Olympus Rangefinder then Canon AE-1 Program followed by a A-1 camera. Then I had a child and my photography hobby took a severe side step to other priorities. I served in the Military for 25 years and I always have had a camera and took pictures where ever I was in the world. I was an early adopter to Digital and have tinkered with it for many years. I have also used Adobe products through the years so none of this is new to me.

Now I am in the position to really start to enjoy my hobby from days gone by. Now I can enjoy it the way I always wanted to. Good Lenses, great Camera body and the ability to go places and capture images the way I want.

I look forward to participating in this forum as I have been on many other forums sharing my knowledge and interests.

    Re: Welcome!!

Greetings, Just joined up today have been looking for a good Camera Forum for a while now and recently found this one, thought I'd check it out. I have a Panasonic Lumix FZ28 10.1mp Camera and mainly take sports pictures, but I dabble in all styles. Have been getting into Photography quite heavily as of late. Have always been interested and played around with photography, but recently I have begun taking pictures and videos of games at my local paintball field. I am part of the fields home team, so I help out and take as many photos as I can to promote the field. I enjoy the simplicity of my Lumix, but there is always room for improvement, right? So, I was wondering, does anyone have any suggestions on a better sports camera that might be able to keep up with the fast pace game of Paintball? Also, any tips or tricks to better use what I already have would be much appreciated as well

Thank you, I hope to learn much from all of you,

    Kermit out.

    Re: Welcome!!

    Hey folks, another newbie here.

Joined up because I fairly recently purchased my first digital SLR and am looking to learn more about photography. I've been hoping to find someplace that I can share some photos and get some feedback from people who know quite a bit more than I do.

I have a Nikon D5100, with nothing more than the kit lens. I have an urge to buy other things, but I'm trying to resist until I can at least prove I'm semi-competent and starting to understand photography a bit!

Look forward to chatting with you all...

    ~Steve

Hello all, former Olympus shooter, new Canon shooter here from Texas. Haven't looked at many photo forums that didn't have to do with 4/3rds but now branching out. Will have plenty of Canon questions I'm sure.

Me. I'm new here. Been into photography for several years. I've got myself into a bit of a mess where I'm torn between 2 different mounts. Will probably be seeking advice in specific sub-forums on how to consolidate.

    Re: Welcome!!

    Hello all -

So I ran across this forum while searching for DSLR reviews and what should be my next investment.

Currently I am using a Sony Alpha A300 with the stock lenses. The 3.5-5.6/18-70 and 4.5-5.6/75-300, obviously nothing special. I have recently started experimenting with lens filters and not really getting the results I was looking for. I do believe that the majority of the issues lie in the entire setup...haha.

I'm debating on selling my setup and moving on to another, more advanced, setup. I know there are valid points on each side of Canon and Nikon, and I'm really not biased towards either one and open to options. I don't have a huge budget, but want something that is going to be giving high quality results with HDR options. Was looking at the Nikon D5200 and D5300, but honestly, not 100% certain what to look for.

Any thoughts and advice is extremely appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Nathan
