    Re: Welcome!!

Hi, my name is Cindy and I'm from Ohio! I just joined here hoping to get some good info on my new camera I just go, the Canon Digital Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm. It's my first actual "big boy" camera so I'm still learning with it and I feel there's so much about it and picture taking that i don't know yet. So hopefully being here will help me learn some new things and techniques, etc..
And if not then at least it'll be fun to be here and look at other peoples work and cry a little bit.. ;( lol, just kidding! But nice to meet you all! :]

    Re: Welcome!!

Hi everybody! My name is Gary, i live in Britain (where the rain comes from!), im 34 and looking to soak up all i can to make myself a better photographer. Judging by the wealth of experience on this forum, i couldn't be in a better place! Got my fist serious camera earlier this month, a Sony A-230, basic i know but i couldn't afford any more! Main interests are military aviation, but i quite enjoy landscapes and wildlife pictures too. Anyway, thats me, looking forward to taking part in discussions etc, and looking forward to making new friends.

OK I found it.. it's not so intuitive is it.. Anyhow here I stand. I'm Chris, 47, male, liviing the er dream on the Wasatch Back. I shoot Nikon. Mostly sports, cycling, skiing, motor sports when I can. I also play with landscape and nature when I can get out of bed early enough. I have actually met Photo-John while shooting 'cross last fall. I provide images to The Podium Cafe (you can google it if you're interested), I would spend time on promo. I mostly shoot for my own enjoyment, but will supply images to anyone who is interested and has something to barter.

I think that about does it for me.

    Hi all,

I registered with this website about 4 or 5 years and forgot that i had an account... =( Tried registering just now and it said my email address is already in use so i had my password reset and there ya go! back after 4 years and zero posts... Anyway, i'm a video game developer by day and wannabe photographer by night. I'm trying to gain experience photographing humans. Where does one find willing affordable models? I haven't been doing this very long, i'm trying to soak it all in. Any feedback on my stuff is much appreciated. thanks for your time.

    Welcome Chris and Cybert.
Glad you found your way back Cybert.
Had a quick look at your site and found your flower shots quite good. Many of us struggle with those dang things.

    Re: Welcome!!

Hello to everyone!!, My computer led me here because my file card on my Nikon Ti 35, started tearing apart. I noticed that I am not alone in my habbits or interests. From my Brownie camera and film developing at home, to camera repair, to my own business doing weddings and legal photography, to working with the City of New York taking pictures and more, to my final destination of being retired and able to take pictures to my hearts content, I say to you all, the photographic bug is good for the soul. Keep shooting!!

Hello from Utah. If I posted a picture of myself it would have beginner printed on my forhead. I am only a beginner and mostly got into photagraphy because of my daughter who is into photagraphy. I usually go along with her serving as a grunt who packs around extra stuff. I finally decided I might as well take a camera along and play with it. I have to admit I enjoy it very much. I am sure I can learn allot in here.

Thanks for the welcome. Used to mountain bike and ski but alas my knees do not allow me to anymore. As far as Mexican food heaven is known as Red Iguana or El Matador although it seems El Matador is not what it once was.

    Hello everyone,I'm Hopper
I have a deep love for all things photographic. I find myself gravitating toward wildlife most.
I have shot a bit of 35MM over the years, but just started, a year ago, with digital.
    I have a D90 and a few inexpensive lenses...So i'm still a noob:mad2:
I come here to learn, interact and enjoy the fellowship of like-minded folks.
    cheers

Welcome, Clyde. (Your post is in the middle of the thread so I had a bit of trouble finding it.) This place has taught me plenty and teaches me something new every day. The best way to learn is to post your best in the critique forum and really listen to the replies. - TF

    Hi all,

I thought i would introduce myself. My name is Kiran and i'm from India. I came onto this site thanks to the trusty Google. I just entered the realm of SLR photography - using at the moment my fathers Olympus OM2. I joined up to learn stuff from others as i'm just a beginner.

I hope i learn something from all here.

    Cheers,

    Kiran.

    Re: Welcome!!

    Greetings to all.
I'm an old mossback, new to this forum. I've been shooting nothing but Nikon film since 1966, but recently bought a used D200 to find my way into the digital world. Hopefully it won't spoil my taste for film! Now I have to start the painful lens acquisition process. I know my AI & AIS lenses work, but it's a pain to use a non CPU zoom. I'm pretty well set with fixed focal length stuff, from 24 to 300, but need to pick up a good all purpose lens, like an 18~300. Non G series only.
Thanks for putting up with me.
    Jeff

    Re: Welcome!!

    Greetings all,

I signed up the other day as I've got an interest in photography. I've read a few threads so far which has shed some light on this new digital SLR stuff, actually I noticed a lot of the terms are still the same from over 25 years ago when I last dabbled with SLR's; they were film then.

I haven't yet purchased a camera and I'm not going to incorporate those questions in this post, I'll leave those for later.

My username is essaytee which is actually a phonetic of my initials (S.A.T.) if that makes sense; it does to me.

I probably should have started with this paragraph, I'm Steve from Melbourne, Australia.

    Anyway until my next post.
