    Re: Self Portraits 2009

I bought a house not too long ago. I took a week off of work to fix it up a little. This shot was taken around 2AM when I wanted to take a break from stripping wall paper. I stripped wall paper for two days in a row. No more wall paper please.

BTW, that shirt (for those who recognize it) is a complete coincidence. You can see how much respect I have for it given that it's a work shirt That thing has to be 5 years old now at least.

The colors, especially in the shadows (such as the floor) are odd due to severe underexposure that I didn't notice. I liked the photo so decided to try and rescue it a bit. I had a flash hiding somewhere to help separate me a bit from the wall.

I felt a need to get in on this thread..and do it with humor. I had to drag a flower into it since that seems to be the only thing I ever take pictures of.

Nice selfer Dana. You are far to modest about your photography. You do a lot more than just flowers and do it very well.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I like the personality in your portrait, Dana, and I've seen many nice shots from you that do not include flowers. Besides, that your own beauty rivals the flower.

Well then how do you like this one? This was done for a joke at another site...doesn't bother me at all to make a fool of myself. I did choose NOT to add this one to my gallery..wise choice huh?

Too funny Dana! I really admire people that don't take them selves so serious that they can't have a little fun. This is for sure a fun self portrait.

    Re: Self Portraits 2009

This one is similar to the last and for the same reason. Waiting in the car for my wife and bored. It is very difficult to hold a camera over your shoulder and get it pointed the right way at a small mirror. It took 32 shots to get this one which I think is the best. Just fun and kills time.
Maybe I should wash that windshield?

Boy, she must have kept you waiting a looong time. Typical woman.

Nice intriguing pic, by the way.

Thanks OT! I've got one AB-800 with an octabox on its way. I figure I should practice getting good with one light before I attempt to buy another one. Besides, I always have my speedlite and white umbrella for a second light if I need it.

Getting fitted for the wedding tux. Never go anywhere without your camera. You never know when you'll find a mirror.

nice one amber. the flash kinda evened out the lighting, but gave you a harsh shadow that's distracting. but not much you can do if its just a quick, lazy picture :-D
