Hi Photoman...Since I've not had a chance to say it before, Welcome to PR.

As for the photos...don't worry about "perfection". Honestly, this thread is simply for fun. Some of the photogs here have much more experience than you and I, and some are just more photogenic. Don't worry about it. It's all about having fun and learning our craft. Of course, this thread is also about getting to know each other a little bit better. As an online community, some of us never get to meet each other in person and it's a good way for us to get to know our friends just a little bit better.

If you think your picture may not be up to par, take a look at mine a few posts up from this one. I had been working all night, my camera was setting 30-40 ft away from the tree, I was trying to run with houseslippers on w/ a 10 sec timer and for a man my size and physical condition, I can tell you, it was quite a feat just to get that. Took 3 tries just to get to the tree, and I wasn't about to try a 4th time. hahaha.
And needless to say, I'm not the most photogenic person on the planet. I hate my pictures, but I feel that if I can post mine as bad as they are, maybe I can inspire people to post their's, because their's has to be better than mine!!! hahahahaha

So...post away, have fun and enjoy yourself, and your art!!! Let us see you in all your self portrait glory!!! We are not here to critique you, just to get to know you!!!

    Re: Self Portraits 2009

I've found myself shooting myself a lot lately, probably because of the lack of a willing subject to help me practice using my alien bees light. It's kinda tough to get the focus dead on when you set the camera a distance away from you and on self-timer. But here's one that came out in focus. Sadly I had my head down just a tad too much and only got a portion of the catchlights in my eyes.

    Re: Self Portraits 2009

Not at my best here, my eyes were sore and streaming, I could hardly see.

I think they got dried out staring into the wind at the night race for a couple of hours, that and a 1 1/2 hour drive to the hotel leaving the track at midnight.
I paid for that the next day, I almost couldn't see to drive back from town, but flushing my eyes with water at the water fountain, and then washing them with damp cloth every so often got us home.
