    Self portrait a day...

In an effort to be creative every day, I've been doing a self-portrait a day. Well, I failed to do it for a few months, but I started up again this week. I've been looking at a lot of Francesca Woodman's work and being inspired by it. Here is Tuesday's, day 209. Photograph is ©2009 Megan Green, All Rights Reserved and not royalty free.

That's very good, Megan. Creeps me out but its well done.
Looks too much like self mutilation which I have too much knowledge of.

    Thanks Dylan and OT

Megan.. Wow, that is creepy, but very good! Makes me think of the new movie Coraline and sewing buttons in ones eyes.

Yuck.. that is really cool!

Thanks for looking! I love my softboxes. BTW, I put glue on my face and let it dry. The only pain involved came when I peeled the glue off my face and it pulled the tiny little fuzzy hairs out. Ow.

Messing around at the studio today. Always tricky to get a self portrait NOT to look like one.

    Re: Self Portraits 2009

Been awhile since I've put one here, so here goes:

Last week we had some severe storms. At one of the parks, we lost some of the oldest, and largest trees in town. This one was probably well over a hundred years old. I barely got into place with a 10 sec timer. Took 3 tries since my only source for propping the camera was a good 30-40 ft. away and I was in my house slippers.

Some statistics to give you an idea of the size of the tree. I'm almost 6' 4" tall, My girth is about 65", so needless to say...I'm a pretty big boy!!! and this thing makes me look (relatively speaking) small!!!

After driving all night, I was a little dissheveled(sp), so please excuse the outfit!!! hehe

Looks pretty convincing, jet. Do you shoot with the 67 a lot?

I'm starting to experiment with it more and more. This camera actually belongs to a pro that I've worked out a deal to share studio space with. I saw a pretty good deal on a 645 and asked her advice on the purchase. Her reply was, I have an rz67 that's been sitting in it's bag on the shelf over there, why don't you use it to get the feel for medium format before buying, you may find that you hate it. So far, I don't hate it  but it does take some getting used to. I do like the waist-level finder better than the prism, but the reversed image can be a little disorienting at times.

I am unable to get those perfect photos like you guys have by turning on the timer. Seriously I don't know how you guys do it.

    Ok, I'm game for this.

Completely bad lighting for a color shot so I converted it to B&W.
