Post images of your classic cameras

I see Jetrim recently acquired a Voightlander Bessa. It might be fun to see images of your classic camera collection. Besides, it's cold outside and the malls are packed

"Classic" in a loose sense. You define it as long as you show it.

Great idea for a thread. Now I just need to dig to the back of the camera cabinet and pull out a couple to get pics of.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I have had many but have sold off most of them. I have had a Yashica 124g, Mamiya 645, Leica M3, Leica IIIa, Canonet QL-17. The older I get the more I realize less is more. I will keep the M6 forever, I think.LOL

    Gorgeous pieces, Alex and Greg.

I'll have to dust off a couple of my pieces.

I think a big factor to what makes these "classics" fun to use is how they were engineered and manufactured to operate. Such pleasure even before the results are seen.

Here's the Kodak Instamatic that my oldest brother acquired shortly after we moved to the US in the early '70s. He soon got a Canonet and I got his Instamatic which used the chunky 126 cartridge film.

I soon stopped using this one in favor of the pocket instamatics which used the tiny 110 cartridge films. You know, with the crop factor and all

I got into the medium format gear in the late '80's and shot with the Bronica ETRS system for about 15 years to shoot industrial equipment at my work.

Had just about every piece Bronica made for the line at that time. Still have most of the pieces as I couldn't make myself part with them. Besides, the resale value on medium format gear sucked even back 5~6 years ago.

My trusty mechanical ETRS here with no front, top, or back attached. No batteries required (for some shutter speeds).

Re: Post images of your classic cameras

In the '90's I fell in love with the image quality of the Contax 35mm film cameras. It started innocently with the T2 point and shoot with a fixed 38mm lens. Quickly upgraded to the TVS II with the manually variable zoom.

Followed soon thereafter with the Contax SLR system and G1 and G2 rangefinders. Great resale value and I sold them all (except for the TVS II) when I went digital.

I sort of wish I kept a couple pieces as they were all beautifully crafted pieces - especially the G2 and the rangefinder lenses. But I'm sure I wouldn't have shot any film since going digital. The TVS II still has a good resale value but I'll not depart with mine:

I've acquired a couple older cameras over the years that I've never shot with. Don't know how "classic" they are but maybe I'll dust those off as well.

Re: Post images of your classic cameras

This is the first camera I ever purchased. I had just graduated from high school and wanted a good camera. This is a Nikon F with a FTN light meter on top with a 50mm F2 lens. I used it for about 35 years until I went digital about 6 years ago. It is in mint condition and still works like the day I bought it, I put a white cap under the lens to prop it up so I could get a quick picture to post, Jeff

Beautiful camera Jeff! I bought my F in 1972 and its as good today as then. It shows a lot more wear and tear than your however. My son used it for a photo class in college just a few years ago.

Those spots on the meter below NIKON are just light reflected off the ring on the lens. The only time it was ever taken out of the case was when it was mounted to a pistol grip bracket so I could use a flash, Jeff
