I recently bought a Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR LD lens and I'm loving it. I know there is a new stabilized XR version of this lens but they still produce this more compact original version for Pentax/Samsung/Sony cameras with SR in the body. It is sharp wide open and very sharp by f3.5 at any focal length. The build is solid and about the only feature you lose vs. a Pentax zoom is the quick shift feature, but it's no big deal to switch to manual focus instead. Considering price vs. performance this is a superb walk around lens IMO- a leap above any kit lens. I thought it would be neat to see some of your images made with this lens.
