Liz is you XT here yet?

    Hey Liz
I was just wondering if you got your Rebel XT yet? How do you like the finish on the silver?

Re: Liz is you XT here yet?

I received it in a damaged UPS box with a slit in it all the way across the box. I'm in contact with the store to see what to do about it - keep or not to keep.

Silver - I ordered the silver. I had checked it out at Best Buy before I ordered it because it doesn't feel as grainy. Most people don't like it, but for me it feels better without so much grainy texture. The silver has some grainy feel to it, but nothing like the black.

I haven't touched the camera - UPS is "investigating" the damage.

In the meantime, I'm thinking of getting another one just because UPS guy told me the slit was caused by throwing and bouncing - and not someone actually slitting the box. My concern is how much bouncing had to occur to cut through all that tape that is filled with nylon thread which is almost impossible to break without cutting.

    Such holdups!

I love your wedding pics btw. I haven't commented on much of anything because I've been so busy.

Thanks for asking Stina. I appreciate it. I'm a little discouraged right now - 2 cameras and couldn't use either one. Anyway, hopefully it will all be over and done with and I'll have whatever camera by Friday. Either this one - or another one.

Unhappy Re: Liz is you XT here yet?

Wow that sinks about your camera. I hope that it all gets cleared up and you have your hands on one you actually get to use soon. I know how much you liked you first DRebel and I am sure you are going to enjoy this one also. Best of luck.

Busted up boxes are why I try to have things shipped Fed Ex. I can't remember the last I got a Fed Ex package that has been thrashed, and I've lost count of the number of late and thrashed boxes via UPS for a few dollars savings over Fed Ex. B&H almost lost me as a customer when they briefly dropped Fed Ex in favor of UPS. Besides, all the Fed Ex drivers in the county are my patients while most of the UPS guys see the other guys in the group. Maybe that's why I get my Fed Ex boxes in good shape and on time. ;)
