Re: Greg McCary in serious accident

I guess it is and will be an up and down journey for a while, Nora.
Just remember that everyone here and I'm pretty sure elsewhere are thinking of and praying for you, Greg, Anna, the parents, the docs and nurses, and all else involved.
Strange how we can feel so close when we are so far away.
Wish I could do more but se-la-vi.

Hi Nora, I am glad you are feeling in better spirits I feel for the load you must be bearing, makes my issues insignificant. I'm also glad to hear Greg is moving forward again. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you, Anna and Greg. Shootme PS: You are doing the right thing.

Great news, Nora. I am sure that he'll read these eventually but tell him now hi from all of us! Tell him there's still a zillion photos out there waiting for him to capture, once he's better........

Hello everyone, Greg is still improving. SLOWLY. It is like he takes 2 steps forward and one step back. But we'll take anything we can get. His Fentanyl drip was d/c'ed this afternoon so hoping to see big improvements in his awareness and alertness. Keep those prayers coming!! You all have been so good.

    Have a starry night, Nora.

When you get down to it, it's one-step-at-a-time for all of us. Even small, slow, painful steps count as progress -- and progress is always good.

You and all the McCrarys are in my prayers each day -- and thank you for your prayers.

Update: Greg is still on course, his nurse told me tonight, "He's marching along, he's definetly not backtracking." and those words sound good to me. He's holding the course.
I miss him very much. Thank you all for your kind words.

    Nora,

I'm glad to hear Greg is progressing as expected in his new environment. Will you have the opportunity to see him any time soon?

How are you doing? I'm still praying for him, and of course you and Anna and all those who are close to Greg.

Tyson, glad you're back and feeling better too....
I just got in from seeing Greg. He IS making progress!! He can't speak to me due to the trach and the vent but he squeezed my hand and blinked at me at times. He's still very, very out of it though. But much better from my last visit. It is soooo hard to read someone that can't communicate to you. I can't wait to see him again. He looks much better. I told him many times he is strong and WILL get better. I don't want him to think he's stuck where he's at now. I hope I got through to him. He was very tired and breaking a fever.
Please keep praying. He has come far and has far to go. Hugs to you all, Nora.

Thankyou again for keeping us up to date, Nora.
I wish there were more I could do but I'll have to leave it to answered prayers and all the good thoughts and well wishes from here and elsewhere.
Hope you are holding up ok and how is your daughter doing?

Re: Greg McCary in serious accident

Squeezing and blinking is great progress in the realm of communication -- sometimes saying more than words can. At this difficult time for him, I'm sure a familiar sight (you) must be meaningful to him. Severe trauma and hospitals are disconcerting -- even to the toughest of us.

God is answering our prayers for his healing and your strength for which I am most thankful.

Tyson: Sorry you were ill -- glad you're better!

    Nora,

This is such great news! I'm so happy that you got to see him and that he acknowledged your presence with him. I'm sure it was very consoling for him to "wake up" and find you there.

I pray for him and you every day, and I hope you and Anna are doing well.

Wonderful signs that Greg acknowledge you. I hope that improvement will go at leaps and bounds now that he is in the new facility.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

Nora, so sorry I've been behind here at the board.

You and Greg are in my prayers. I don't think there's a day that goes buy I don't think of you guys. I lit a candle tonight for you too. I'm not sure what it is about that, but I feel it just sends good juju.

    My best to you both.

    Hello all

I am also glad to hear about Greg's progress. There is a donation fund running in his name where anyone who has the means can make a contribution. You can find information on the fund here. I am going to unstick that thread but I want everyone to know the fund is still alive and well. Best wishes of healing to Greg and his family and I also pray for his continued progress and recovery.
