    Dance stuff for jrun_319

    Here's a couple, started a new thread...

I've been using the 10d, available light, 70-200 f/4L. Stage lights are usually pretty bright, so I haven't had much of a problem with blur. I'm usually at f/4 1/30 - 1/90 on a tripod. White balance set to the lightbulb

these are from the spring recital

    Love the light

Love the light in all these. Number two is my favorite, now if you could have just gotten the first girl up on her toes..... Beautiful work, we have so many people with varied photo interest on this site, it makes each day a new adventure when you log on. Thanks for continuing to share your wonderful dance images.

On the second one, the first girl had sprained her ankle the day before, so she wasn't even in toe shoes. That's one of the first things I noticed also.

Yup, that's my babe in the last one. The other ones are just girls who dance at the same studio we go to. And the dads. Every spring they do a dad's dance about halfway thru. Too funny.

    Adina, these are very good...

Not to take anything away from you, because you obviously did a real good job taking these shots, but you're very lucky to get such beautiful lighting for this. It allowed you to concentrate on the movement of the dancers, which you did...

Re: Adina, these are very good...

Yes, the lighting was really nice. I was very concerned when I shot the first show that I was going to end up with nothing but a blurry mess. I also stop in and see these dances a couple times while they are practicing. That way I know what to expect.

    Next show is mid-December...

What ISO did you use.. Do you remember what meter setting you were using at the time to handle the light as well as it did. My daughter does the dance thing and I hope that I do half that well this year at the recitals.

    Nice job.

Adina, these are ALL very nice! You did a very good job, I'm sure even with stopping in to the recitals that its still hard getting to where you need to be to get the composition that you want...And the last one.... Gorgeous!

Adina, I agree with every one else, these are beautiful and should be framed. I especially like the 3rd one. Good placement within the frame. The lighting couldnt have been better and you knew how to get it. Great work, and your daughter is adorable.

Iso 800. And the studio wanted the ones from last December at 11x14 and 10x20, noise wasn't really an issue at all.

    Thanks guys.
