Talking Bird Pics with my new 10D

There is a pond conveniently across the street from my house...I shot these with my 10D and a 100-300mm USM that jumped in my bag on Friday - I told it no, but it just wouldn't let me leave without it.

I think the first bird is a Blue Herrin (sp?) but I'm not sure...anyone know?

    What do you think?

Very nice. I usually find bird pictures somewhat boring, but these are excellent. The first one is my favorite.

Thanks for the ID on these Paul - We've got a skittish crane across the street too, that I could never get close enough to with my F717 - I'm going to stalk it now with the 10D.
