    Post your racin wrecks

Ok, they have the bird ID thread and so on, so how about a wreck thread....I have a ton of em. Some are pretty wild. And everyone either walked away or they only had minor bumps and bruises.

    Re: Post your racin wrecks

    Thanks,
I have about a thousand wreck shots from 5 years of action. I'm still digging for some of these gems. But wait til ya see the three bus figure 8 crash I'll post that tonight.
#4 is one of about 20 of that crash. This is one time I was glad to have that 8fps and 20 frame buffer. Whew, and think, the MKII N is 8.5 fps and 45 frame buffer...I can't wait!

    Nice!

Great idea. I've got some. I'll have to do some digging. But I think I can contribute.

Some really nice action here John. Wish I could participate, but alas my only race stuff is on slide and no way to get it posted. The one I remember the most though is of Buddy Baker hitting the wall in turn 3 at Bristol and flames shotting out everywhere. I think that one was from 1972.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    JS,

Those are quite crisp (especially number 4 in your first set) for being indoors. Well done, and great shots!

OT, you know Stock Car Racing magazine would probably pay you to run some of those old shots! It might be worth getting a scanner to scan those slides.

    THanks Jared,
Those were shot with a 1D and (at the time) my new Sigma 70-200. We''ll see what we get next week at Ft Wayne with the new gear....I will probably have a lot to add here!

Never thought about that. Well you have given me a pitch for the wife to justify the expense.

    Deer Valley National

    This thread needs more action!

I took this last Friday, at the Deer Valley NORBA National expert practice, in Park City, Utah. I think this guy tried to change his mind.

    Denied!

I just searched this forum for the word "crash." That's how I found it. Hopefully people will keep adding to it. Maybe you should make it into a sticky. I'd like to see it get more attention and people start adding to it regularly.

    JETA,

It goes like this, the rider who is the guy flying through the air suddenly turned right and took out the flagman who was standing a couple feet behind the two women who are doing the scoring. The flagman never even saw him coming! The flagman is the guy in orange just on the other side of the quad. The two women never saw it until after the quad hit the fence. The flagman was probably better off not seeing it coming. No one hurt though, thats the amazing thing.
