Interesting image. i'm not sure if there is enough there to be effective, but it still holds interest. Is this somewhat a composite or all in camera? Keep going with it.
This was all done in camera. Post processing was kept to the very minimum here. The level of light was very low but I thought that the even ghostlier effect was interesting.
Hey Seb. The creativity behind these shots is great. Wish I had thougt of it. I like how your legs are lost in the shadows. Really adds to the feeling of a floating spirit.
"I thought that because fewer wolves meant more deer, that no wolves would mean hunters' paradise. But after seeing the green fire die, I sensed that neither the wolf nor the mountain agreed with such a view."

I think it works really good. The lines from the stairs and steps draws you down the steps the level of the camera. I think some more work on the figure would help. The lighting there looks pretty good one or two more lights might help it some.
Mabye another version of the shot would be have the figure clear and the background blurred but with some long time exposure so it looks like your moving towards figure. Very cool shot. I think the best i have seen since i joined the site.
MJS: Thanks for the good word, I am glad to know that it works for you!
Themage: Wow, thanks for the positive feedback! Just to make sure that I get you right, when you say "one or two more lights" do you mean 1 or 2 more stops of exposure or actually bringing lights with me to lighten up the scene??? This was shot relying on the ambient lighting (read the street lights!). This was a 30 seconds exposure at ISO 200 (the lowest setting my D70 allow) and the noise is getting quite obvious. I think that I would need to go back to my film SLR for longer exposures unless I find out an efficient way to diminish visible noise in post processing. I am going back there for some more experimentation next week end anyway.
Cool shot. I like where you are going with it. The ghosting on your image is appropriate I feel for the shot. I wouldn't have expected more detail on the ghost form or wanted it. It's a ghost not a portrait after all. I don't think that I noticed the noise problems that you say you are having but that is probably due to compression for share purposes. If you have Photoshop a light tough of the noise reduction feature might help you feel better about it.
Cheers! And good luck with your next attempt there.

Hello CLKunst, Thank you for sharing your opinion. Yup, I do have Photoshop, I am working with CS2 here. I know I am about to sound stupid but how do you reduce noise with Photoshop? That's something I just don't know.
Seb what i meant was if there were more lights at the that location. But now that i look at it again i think its better the way it is because it looks more mysterious.
