    Orange flowers

If I ever find another subject other than flowers, it may well be a miracle. Macon, Ga. is UGLY!!

It's hard taking a shot of a one coloured flower, isn't it! Sorry, these don't seem to jump out at me, maybe if you were to take a different vantage point with your camera, or play with some flash(the shadow in the second one is distracting). I think for every one good flower shot that I have posted, I have about 100 bad ones. They are tough to do!

I, unfortunately, have to agree with Photogimp. These pictures don't do much for me, as I see them as too cliche. Nice try, but maybe try something new and different next time!

I can agree 100%. I will post not only what makes me proud, but what I think sucks, because that is the only way to learn. Yeah, flowers can be tough sometimes, but all subjects can. A new camera has made its way into my bag, so it is time to see what that brings.

PS- I know flowers are overdone. They are good when you don't have a model and prefer to shoot in solitude. There just isn't much else here.

    Re: Orange flowers

The first one suffers from the shadows of the stamens running off the left side of the flower and blending into the background. The second one suffers from the orange of the stamens blending into the orange of the petals, and makes the picture seem a lot softer than it would be otherwise. Also, there's a bit of spiderweb between the bottom right two petals -- you could clean this up a bit without much difficulty.
