    This looks amazing. Great job.

Just out of curiosity, what was the building used for?

Its an abandoned wing of an asylum/hospital, step through this door and your into a fully functioning hospital, much to my surprise and the others in the working side.....:blush2:

    Excellent work and subject.

VM, have you expanded your HDR subject matter beyond these deserted buildings? Not that they aren't great, but I think applying the technique in other areas is the logical next step. Just curious!

This is awesome, HDR isn't normally my taste, but this seems very well done.

Would've been awesome to have some sort of medical object or old thing as subject matter. But who'd want to touch that right?

    Nice find.

I do the odd other thing now and then, but believe it or not I dont really like HDR shots of landscapes etc. I prefer the dark, gritty look it gives the dereliction..........and the processing technique on these could not easily be transfered onto anothe subject IMO

The sharpness in this one is ridiculous. How do you do it?

    No, seriously...

Dray, I've asked VM the same question. I have problems getting my images as sharp as this even when using a tripod, a middle f stop value (~ 8), and all those other tricks to ensure the shot is super sharp.

    Perhaps it's the lens quality?

Vic - thanks. And yes... you apparently can. These images should all be next to the term "Hyperrealism" in the dictionary.

GB - yup, magic 8 is the often the sharpest point. That 17-40 is renowned for being an awesome lens... better than the 16-35L.

I shoot RAW, normally between f/8 - f/11, unless its the 50mm then it can be down f/1.8, always apply a strong USM right at the beginning of the PP in CS5 after HDR and tonemapping..........anything else I can help with just holla

SO crisp and clean, I am in awe. A very daunting image. You nailed it on the head: "dark and gritty" indeed.
