    bird at sunset

This shot is overexposed, yet I find it attractive. I like the "rainbow" around the sun, and I think the overexposure makes the bird stand out.

    What do you think?

    Kelly,

I like the rainbow around the sun too, but the water is a little too bright for my tastes.

Not to my taste, but then my taste might be faulty ;)

I find the rectangular area of water distracting, it's about 1/4 of the frame and because it's overexposed it doesn't have enough detail in it to make it attractive.
At high resolution it may be better, but reduced to uploadable size the bird's legs seem to vanish against the water highlight.

The rainbow around the sun is neat though

Sorry kelly, but this one isn't doing it for me. The bird does stand out against the water, but it is still quite small in the frame, not really much of a subject. Nothing in the photo seems to be in focus. The sky is unfortunately uninteresting and pretty much the same color as the water - pretty bland, and the water and sky take up most of the image.

Thanks everyone! I was hoping I could salvage this one, but I guess it's just too bland. Oh well.

You'll be seeing a better one, of a boat instead of a bird, one of these days.
