    Interesting capture..

Cute little roadrunner.. I wonder if Wile E. Coyote is close by?

Wait.. Aren't you in KY? Do they have roadrunners there?

    Nice job OT!

    Ha ha!

What a funny bird! (You can tell I'm not used to seeing road runners anywhere other than in cartoons.) To me it looks like you really captured this bird's character. Very nice shot.

He'll set us straight as to his/her ID.

    I love it!

What a sweet bird. I'd like to see it cropped - showing more of the bird and less of the background - but that would mean you'd have to cut off his cute tail. Oh well. He/she is sooooooo cute! I want to bring him/her home.....

    I'm pretty sure...

That is is a "she". Roadrunners are fun birds, especially if you can catch one hunting a meal.

Sheesh...I always thought a Roadrunner was just a cartoon character. This critter is one funny-looking bird. Nice shot. :-)

    Photo O.T.!

I saw those in Arizona when I was stationed out there. Fast little buggers! And it's difficult to get near one. That is awesome having one come into the yard and posing for you. Great catch.

I think it's unanimous that you are now offically a "birder"!!!

    Congratulations.

    Beep Beep

This was my second strange encounter (sleeping inside a gas grill) in the southwest when I lived in NM for a while... the first was waking up to the sound of hissing outside my window and people in hot air Balloons waving good morning about 100 yds from the rooftop of the house I was in.... I love it...you caught that spastic wild eyed look they have...great...didi you have fun?

    Thanks for the comments everyone.

Thanks for the comments everyone. This little fellow was a first for me. We debated about his/her sex (thanks for clearing that up Paul). At one time two roadrunner were on the back porch playing around under a table. This was a very enjoyable way to spend a holiday weekend. My wife and youngest daughter made the trip with me to West Texas to see my son and daughter in-law who have been living there for about a year and a half. I took a ton of images I hope to post a few more in the coming days. Thanks everyone.

Cool shot! I saw one outside of Austin last year - I think I was more surprised to see it than it was to see me. Look forward to seeing some others.
