    windowlight portrait

Recorded a lighting tutorial on windowlight today. Did some windowlight portraits, and then went outside to "find the light". I learned so much just from doing this video, I even found 10 spots with GREAT light all in a 5 min walk from my studio.

This is windowlight in my shooting area and one reflector to my left.

Soft filter action added, and burning.

Gee, thirty views and not one single comment. Well then, I suppose I'll be the first.

I think you caught the lighting very nicely in this photo. And your ps work is outstanding. I'm trying to develop my own unique soft effect for portraits as well, so viewing your images is very helpful to me. I hope you keep posting more shots of this nature.

I'll jump in here to add further congrats on developing this wonderful style of yours. Though the skin is almost too perfect, the sparkle in her eyes is what makes this photo pop. Great stuff.

Thanks guys, you should know by now that I over soften everything. That's me, tha'ts what my clients like (and pay for). With these images, I didn't touch the eyes at all, in fact all I did was burn and soften. The eyes are the key to "finding the light". IMO a good catchlight will make or break a portrait, when you have a nice catchlight, the eyes just POP, and that is where most people are drawn too, the eyes. I had sooo much fun shooting this video, and in a way learned how to "find the light" even more. I found 10 different spots all in a 5 min walk from my shooting loft.

    ONE THING YOU FORGOT ...

You also need a "model" with nice eyes

I do believe said "model" is your better half right?
