    Re: Welcome!!

Hi guys, so well for as long as I can remember I loved playing around with cameras. My mom used to get so mad at me because I would find where she hid hers and I would use up all the film just to take random pictures. And that is basically what I have been dong for quite some time however people kept telling me how much they liked my pictures (which were just point and shoot photos) that I decided to take it a bit further and try to actually understand photography.

    Re: Welcome!!

While I have been a member here for some time, I tend to come for help... This I hope isn't a bad thing, it is a daunting task to pinpoint what one ever needs.

I was helped last on a camera for my daughter, which has worked fine for her. Now for me and the wife.

While I started w/ slr's in the 70's/80's, I have migrated through the dslr realm and am now looking for simple (emphasis on SIMPLE) point and shoot.

We have owned a Canon a Pentax and now have a Panasonic lumix (DMC-ZS7) All of these cameras have been simple... or so I thought. I understand the aspects of these cameras however my wife, not so much. It's time for a change gone are the days of creating each shot to be a one of a kind, through the photographers eye... Now it's done for you

I am here begging for help. I have read through many reviews of many cameras and the confusion level is beyond reproach. I would like to throw this out there and have some serious input w/ parameters in place.

    EASY TO USE
Quick zoom w/ little to no extended lens blur.
    Fewer setting the better
    cost between $100 to $300
I/O display (excellent viewing in bright natural light)

While these seem easy, it is not. Having been through my prior p&s's these things to be major problem for my wife.

I'm open, thanks for the assistance

    Hello Photographers.

I've been taking photographs off and on since I was an egg. I recently started to take things a little more seriously: joined the local Camera Club, entered competitions and started to work towards LRPS.

Current images for proposed LRPS panel is on my Flickr page. Can't put a link to it yet!

    Bottom row needs work!

Hoping to get lots of reviews and good advice. Two latest Images Below:

    Hello everyone!
I am looking for a new camera. I have been using a Nikon cool pix 4800. I need to be able to take pictures of my Orchid flowers for my website. This one does not do so well in non natural bright light. I mostly put my pictures on the computer to my website. I want to be able to use the pics in print ads also. But I need a camera for pics of my kids also. I am looking at the sony hx200, but I might wan to take some classes on photography so I am also looking at the Cannon rebel t3i it is so confusing I want something to last for years but that takes awesome close up pictures

I am cudgewa from Australia. I have my own SLR Nikon but have just bought my wife a Samsung WB150F. On trying to work it out, I have looked at its PDF manual. I'd like to set it so that she can take multiple shots of sports scenes in a quick sequence. Samsung appear to call this 'Burst Mode' and it can be accessed by pressing 'Menu' while in 'Shoot Mode' and - select 'Drive' and then select 'Continuous'. All of that would be fine except that there is no 'Shoot Mode' option available (what ever 'Shoot Mode' means) and under none of the options are you able to select 'Drive' - Does anyone have any idea on what I can do to use such an option?

    I thank you in advance.

I copied this post to the Digital Cameras - General forum. Hopefully someone there will be able to help.

Sorry about not getting any replies, but your post is burried somewhere in the middle of this Welcome thread and nearly impossible to find.

Hello. I am a new member here. I've beenm taking photos now and then since the early 70's on my mom's Voigtlander.

I got my first DSLR in December 2012. I chose a Pentax K30 because of the construction, image quality, ability to use legacy lenses with stabilization, and the bright pentaprism 100% viewfinder, the better-than average kit lens, and the great price, especially with the $100 rebate at the times.

I tokk the rebate and a few dollars more and purchased an 3 old primes--a 28 mm f2.8 , a 50 mm F2.0 , and an 135 mm f 3.5. Right now the 28 mm is my favorite.

I like to shoot travel photos and odd stuff that catches my eye.

Here;s a few of my photos:

New to this site. Looks like a great place for answers! I use a Nikon D90 and a couple Sony point-n-shoots. Looking for answers to "white ghosts" showing up on a couple photos taken recently without flash at night. It happened on 2 out of maybe 10,000 images taken by a Sony. Hoping they are guardian angels!
