Old Timer, I love the colors in this photo, and the depth of field works perfectly for this shot. I can't wait till things start to blume around here. The trees are just starting to bud!

That looks good, nice focus, nice colours - but the more in-focus leaf lower right distracts me. I keep getting drawn to that from the bee and back again.

Good point about the leaf. To be honest with you I hadn't noticed it. I'll try and do something about that on the next version.

Thanks for the kind comments Tim and Michael. I really like this type of photography and have a hard time waiting for Spring.

    I forgot this isn't critique
I tried something like this and failed abysmally to get the depth of focus.

No problem with the observation, glad to have it. I will admit that this was one of about a dozen hand held images that I took of this general scene. This was the only one that I felt good enough about to want to post. Other were just not as sharp. Those bees move around rather quickly.

I spent about 20 minutes chasing them around flowers last year at a coach stop on the way to F1 testing. Only got this one that was just out of focus

    Cool Re: Upside Down Lunch

Hey OT - you and Spring get along very well......I love your flower shots and you didn't let us down this time.

I LOVE the colors and the bee is sharp. I agree with the leaf being only slightly distracting as it resembles the bees wings somewhat.

But it doesn't take away from the image.

Thanks - and I look forward to seeing more Springtime.

Lovely shot. Great colors and don't get too close to them

This image was shot with the Nikkor 105mm. I have had a ball with it since purchasing it used about a month after I got the D70 last spring. I am at the one year anniversary of the D70 and am still very much thrilled with it. One of the best photographic moves I have ever made.

Thanks to Liz and jar_e who commented on this photograph gald you liked it Spring is sucha wonderful time to take photographes.

I have several just like this. They are just off enough that you can't really be thrilled with them. Sure a lot of fun chasing those little critters around though.
