2nd shot from 1952

Here is the second shot for my grandfathers slides which I just finised scanning in. Interesting, the slides are packaged in metal jackets with thin pieces of glass on each side.

Very litte work to this shot in PS.

I love the old cars parked there.
It really has a feel of a bygone era - even the 'untamed wilderness' around the buildings.

That's pretty good quality for a 50 year old photo.

Chris, it has been a long time since I used any "glass mounts" but that is probably one reason these have held up so well, the glass helps protect the film. I guess I told my age a bit at admitting to have used them, but they are great for preservation of a good slide - sometimes a bit difficult to get into a projector! Are these Kodachrome? or do you have any idea?

Hello. I do not know if they ar K-crome or not. The holders appear to be glued to gether and I do not want to pry them apart, although a few of the slides would look better if I got them out of the dirty glass..

Must be Kodachrome to look like this after over 50 years! I have some of my grandfather's slides - some that were and many that weren't. Those that weren't are pretty obvious. Some films held up better than others but nothing even close to KR.

Don't pull them apart without some expert advice (which I'm afraid I can't give you ). Help might come from a good old local photo store, an art museum or even Light Impressions. Thanks for sharing!

Chris the ones I used would snap together, but who knows what the ravages of time has done in getting them well acquainted with each other -- or how the film may have become affixed to the glass slides. I wouldn't try seperating them unless I had a "junk" one in there of some kind that I could not hurt.
