    Red, Red, Red

Nat covered Orange with her pupmkins.
Nothing screams autumn like red leaves. Put yours here.

This shot is from a roadcut near Ridgeway Wisconsin.

    Hey Chunk,

I like this shot alot! Just goes to show us that there are so many beautiful things out there if we just take the time to stop, and look around. Did you take this on your way home today? Did you find anything interesting at the Art Tour here in town?

Thanks again for everything today, and it was a pleasure meeting you.

Once I got moving I decided to just take a drive instead. I had seen these leaves on the way to your place and decided to go take a few shots of them on the way to Hyde. Nice drive for a day like today. I enjoyed meeting you too and look forward to seeing someof your B/W work.

    Chunk,
Like this too. The reds against the earth tones are beautiful. Good catch.

Here is a mild shot of the colors just beginning transition. Hopefully I will have some real fire to display after next week.

Good thread Chunk, and those leaves are so delicate up agains the stone..Here's mine from my camping trip to Blue Ridge 4 years ago. It was my first time seeing fall leaves so I went wild. These were trken before I went digital with my Canon Rebel 2000. This is making me want to drive up there right now! Kit

These are terrific Kit I really like the intricate tracery of the twigs in the first pic. It must look great in a larger print.
    Thanks.

We have no red leaves yet, so I'm going to cheat a little.
Still red though, just a little excess green in the background maybe

Smile Oh sure, rub it in.

Since I moved from Wisconsin to Alberta, I've missed the red and orange fall colors. Up here it is yellow, and ... yellow. The maples just don't thrive here so we make due with poplars and larches turning. Don't get me wrong, a golden yellow grove of poplars is beautiful, but I still miss the variety of midwest fall colors. I do have to admit that some bushes and vines do turn red or at least rust colored.

But you guys get the Canadian Rockies nearby, Don't you? That trumps maples any day. (Snowin there yet?)

    Snow

Well, yes, the Rockies are about a 45 minute drive away, and I love them for photo and recreation opportunities. As a matter of fact, we got the first snow of the season this weekend, just a dusting in town... I'm sure the mountains got several inches. While it isn't unusual at all to get snow in Calgary in October, the average daytime temps are supposed to be mid 50s right now, so it shouldn't stick.

Gary, I was just admiring your shot. It's really beautiful. That sky is also unique and makes the shot.
