Because I am thinking this is a first year PAINTED BUNTING, but the white on the tail is wrong.
Then I was thinking it's a female scarlet tanager, but the beak looks wrong slightly and the white under tail is wrong.
The only bird I can think of with that basic coloring, beak and build is A. Goldfinch, but something about it just seems really wrong to me besides the eye ring.
VERY decieving image here.
I thought it was a female painted bunting. Could that be a hotspot on the tail?
Well Paul here's another to help you reach your goal, shot this tonight 8/2. Went back to where I shot the Magnolia Warbler, they mowed down the field so the birds probably moved on , this guy was in a tree at the edge of the field.
Hi Paul, I posted the picture you IDed as a Magnolia elsewhere and also got the ID of Magnolia. But the guy that IDed it asked for more pictures and now he isn't sure so I'm posting one of those extras for you to see.

Most didn't have a clue what the bird was, the man who IDed it as a Magnolia but wanted to see more shots said Prairie after seeing the shot from the back. I had also posted a side view, I'm not sure all pictures are of the same bird but they were all the same type of bird. The other forum is a birding and wild birds, mostly backyard birders but I have gotten many ID there.
