    Talking Need a bird I.D. Paul!

    My husband spied this bird in an abandoned lot down the street... of course I was GONE, so he took the photo. He also said that it hung out there all day, so it may be injured. Can you please fill me in with an I.D. ? Thanks!

    hmmm I actually found it myself. It's a Crested Caracara, and it's endangered. I imagine if it's still there tomorrow, I will call the Wildlife experts around here....

    yes..YOUR HUSBAND IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO BACK and READ that dialog from last week

    right now RAPTORS are doing what is called .POST BREEDING WANDERING..that may be what it is doing.

    I seen one over near corkscrew swamp(NAPLES) flying around and I know in the ORLANDO area a pair nests

    So... should I call the Wildlife Refuge? Or just leave him alone?

    CALL the FLORIDA FISH and GAME either way to LET THEM KNOW ..WHERE SEEN and the NWR headquarters IF on a NWR

    Nope, just a piece of property down the street. I use the term "wildlife refuge" a little loosely... we have a wildlife center here that takes in injured animals. Here's my (seriously cropped) photo of the bird atop a 50 foot tree. (he can fly well, so I assume he's not injured)
