    Just A Lousy Sunset Shot

Taken Monday evening with the Coolpix 5700. Handheld (my N80 was on the tripod), f8 with -1.0 Exposure Compensation dialed in. This is a cropped version.

That is a very cool image Speed! Gotta love that color, and to see the sun like that is a real treat.

    Thanks!

Too bad you didn't get on the other side of that bridge to get more sky, that would be a cool pic

I appreciate the comments. I do love the color, and I think it's kind of cool seeing the sun behind the oak tree like that. I'm not happy about how un-sharp it is. Plus, I wasn't happy with the sun's position, setting over the land like it was. So, I tried to make the best of it (I don't get to shoot sunsets nearly as often as I'd like to), come up with a reasonable composition.

    Thanks again for the comments.

    Thanks for the comments.

I was hoping the sun would be over the sound, but it was not to be.

I don't get the opportunity to shoot sunsets with decent scenery often, so I did my best given the circumstances.

I really want to get a nice shot that can compete with one of my first sunset shots. I took one shot, and it is by far my favorite, and my most requested. Too bad I had 400 speed film in the camera instead of Velvia!

Here's that shot. I wish I had the PS skills to make it look like the print. But you'll get the idea.
