Indoor Soccer / 3200 ISO wow!

    Hey all,
I just got around to downloading some indoor soccer pics of a tournament here at the Salt Palace last weekend. My niece was competing so I headed over there for a couple of hours of shooting. It was really my first good test of how the 7D does with faster moving subjects. Continuous AF was really quite good considering the low light in there. All shots taken with the trusty 70-210 f/4, ISO 3200 manual WB. Enjoy,

Those are probably some of the best digital ISO 3200 shots I have seen.
The grain is very tight. Is 3200 the highest that camera goes?
    Good Job Scott!

Re: Indoor Soccer / 3200 ISO wow!

    Hey Brian,
thanx for the comments. ISO 3200 is the max for the 7D. I lurk alot on the Konolta SLR forum alot and was reading a thread about overexposing at the highest ISO's to minimize noise ( "pulling" it in effect ala film?), and the poster put up some test pics and it seemed to have merit. I tried it for the soccer pics (1 stop) and they do seem less noisy than the swimming pics I posted a couple of weeks ago that were also shot at 3200. I don't know why it would react like film in that way as it's like comparing apples vs. patio doors but it does seem to work......Later,
