I'm back from the far east.

Two weeks in Korea was way too cool. Talk about culture shock. Didn't get in as much photography as I wanted because when you are with non-photogs, there is no getting out early in the morning or waiting 20 minutes for the right light.

Shot everything on film so I wouldn't have to lug a PC to download cards and worry about recharging batteries with voltage differences. It will be awhile before I get everything back but here are a couple from the first few rolls. Scanner is acting like crap so sorry about the low quality scans.

Two are from a demonstration opposing the impeachment of the Korean President.

    Dennis,

I really like these. You are forgiven for the scanning quality.

    Glad to have you back.

Great pictures. We went to korea for a 3 day trip to get visas when we moved to Japan, we ended up there for 2 weeks with paperwork troubles. I really like the street photo.

    Dennis ...Welcome back

I like the first one...cool perspective, and the second one is a winner big time.

Culture shock is good...it's one of the things I like most about traveling.

Cannot wait to see the rest.

How long did you live in Japan? I connected through Narita this time around. My wife took a picture of a grown woman dressed in a short skirt with striped stockings wearing Mickey Mouse ears. Nobody even batted an eye. But I did hear that some pretty fashion forward styles come out of there.

Loren, you are right. The more I travel, the more I realize how much I love to. What really struck me on this trip was that one culture is not better than another, just reallly different. I definitely think we all could use more exposure to outside cultures.

America is a big exporter of our culture but not a big importer of others. You walk into any music store in other countries and you will see posters of American artists where here we only see our own. I think we are loosing the benefit of that exposure.

Just over 4 years. I know Narita well, we flew to the US and back 2 times a year.

    Afternoon Subway

Took this on a ride on the subway. Cool or cliche?
