For those car lovers out there!

    Hey Guys / Gals,

At Infineon Raceway in Sonoma last weekend, they had the Ferrari Challenge. Got to see Ferraris and Maseratis from almost all eras. Enzo's, Modena's, F50's, F40's, Daytonas, Testarossa's. Just beautiful. They were running on the track too. What a sweet site. It was nice to test the 10D's autofocus. Still need some work on my panning technique though... enjoy.

I even drove the forbe's gini's since i was friends with his driver/bodyguard.... that full time 200mph 4x4 gini rocks!!!!!

Yeah, I was pretty much in awe of every car that was there

You can say I was drooling the whole time I was there. They even had the new Maserati Quattroporte, one sweet looking sedan.

In regards to the panning, I dont' know if I just wasn't stable enough, but a lot of the track shots came out blurry (out of focus and camera shake). You can't really tell when they've been resized and sharpened. I'd say out of the 400 pictures, 50% were like that. I had it on AF servo and shutter priority 1/350 sec, so I don't know. Maybe it's a question for the sports photography forum. Anyways here are some more Ferraris.

correction you had it on AI SERVO

50% of your images being slightly blurry is above average at 1/350th in my opinion. btw.. blur isn't always a bad thing either!

btw... you mention the body being a 10D,but the lens was?

my 1D will not focus my 100-400 as fast as it will my friend's 400f2.8 or 600f4.... the focus motor is in the lens on canon EF mount lenses(some are weedwhacker engines others are 525 hp vette engines)

I agree that blur is not always bad.

But the blur I was getting was not the good kind. The lens I had on there was the 70-200mm f4 L lens. It focuses fairly fast but I don't really have any other USM lens to compare it to other than my 85mm. yeah, I though 50% was rather high too.... especially since I was using 1/350 which is pretty fast right? Attached is a 100% unedited crop of an example of the blur I was getting.

i can honestly tell you that driving a nice auto is cool, but a 4cl escort gets me there too ;)

I've owned a few sick rides... acura legend(not stock), 71 cuda 440, 68 roadrunner 383(blew it up and put a 426 hemi in), yenko camaro, ford lightning, cyclone, typhoon, VW carado, 63 vette w/ a 527 ci street engine(968 hp with the blower belt on), 72 AMX(401)...... moved to a ford ranger and a escort.... no tickets, less fuel , cheaper insurance , no need to have an armed guard watch it... AND I GET TO WORK IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME ;)

btw... the escort held my 178 lb dog nicely in the back seat too

THAT'S YOUR PANNING ! your lens was dead on panning is not real easy, yet with practice isn't hard either! you are doing GREAT by getting 50% sharp (enough) images.

fast shutter speed is ISO 400 f5.6 at 1/4000+ i get that alot when shooting birds in flight(+1.3 ev usually). maybe try to get f5.6- f8 and 1/500th next time.... and check the files at full size if possible.

not that you need a lot of help, but keep practicing your panning technique!

    seriously... great images, good panning!

i'm 3rd shift.... time for bed

I agree, cool rides rock, but like paulnj, my 3cyl Geo metro hatchback gets me to/from work and school, on $40 in gas a month and under $75insurance a month.

    Cheers!

    Thanks paul.

Yeah, i'll try to get back out there for the AMA superbike race. I think that'll be even harder with motorcycles being smaller and faster. But it'll be good fun and good practice.

Blow job escort agency at Manchester. Annabell can give you a blowjob on the car. My first two girls did not suck me. It was pure touching of my cock and anyways as a young man I was too eager to enter a woman’s love hole and deposit my seed in there.
