    If Martians stole your gear

Yes and then banned all digital photography including, cameras, cell phones, Itouches ect. Only allowing unlimited film shooting. You were also given the choice of only one system. Would you go back? If so what system would you pick? Or would you just give up and quit?

Hasselblad, and I probably wouldn't be shooting motor racing ;)

I would stick with it and most likely stick with Canon gear. I would love to try a 4x5 system but it's not a great fit for wildlife photography.

Re: If Martians stole your gear

If I can keep my lenses, I'd probably go to shooting film Canon since I have so many canon lenses accumulated now. If I lose all my gear including lenses, I might go back to Minolta. I did love the old Maxxum 7000.

Easy one for me, Nikon F5 and loads and loads of provia, velvia and since we are all shooting film again, I bet Kodak would even bring back the Kodachrome!

Well I still shoot a lot of film, so no biggie for me. Give me by Rollei, my F4, and my 'roids and I'm happy.

Re: If Martians stole your gear

I only have two lens which I would not be able to use on my Nikon FM 10, but if I spent $$$ and get the latest and greatest Nikon F with Auto focus the unusable lens count is one. I still have my Leica IIIb clone, 1/4 plate speed graphic, 4 x 5 View Graphic. The only thing the quantity of photos would decrease due to the cost.

PS I mite even finish the 120 roll film view camera which I started.

Re: If Martians stole your gear

Greg, I would go back to my old Canon system and velvia film - wouldn't like it, but there is no way I am going to quit. I'd buy myself a scanner and go for it...

    Cheers,

Re: If Martians stole your gear

All my gear??? Damn those friggen martians. I hope they left my Coolscan alone.

I would still shoot and hope I could remember how to process tri-x in the sink. I would be tempted to go with some old Nikon gear - an FE-2 maybe and the lovely 105mm f2.8 macro lens and the snappy wide angles. Maybe even find the effervescent FA and see if it's really as quirky as reported. But the ergos would probably do my head in and I'd go back to Olympus and my basic kit - OM-3, 24mm, 35mm, 135mm, 180mm and my beloved 90mm macro. Throw in an OM-1 to run a different film speed/type.

Probably go back to my Pentax LX and MX cameras shooting Provia 100.

Nah, I'd give it up and go back to sportfishing.

I'm too much of a control freak to let anyone else make my color enlargements. And making color enlargements is too much of a pain and hassle to start that back up.

I'd pull out my old Nikon F and as much Tri-X as I could find and have a ball.
