    Goodbye, Grandma

You might have noticed that I disappeared for a few days. My grandmother died last Wednesday. She was 93. We knew she was dying and I visited her on Memorial Day. I'm very glad I did. It was a nice visit and I will have good memories from it. She was born in Alberta, Canada and died in Ogden, Utah.

My condolences John. It's good that you got to see her on Memorial Day and had a chance to be with her one last time. Bless her heart. At 93, she lived a long life and, knowing you, I would surmise during her life, she enjoyed a very loving family.

    Rest in Peace Grandma

    John,

I'm sorry to hear about your beloved Grandma. No matter how old those we love are, even when we know it is coming, it is always a shock. I'm glad you were able to visit her on Memorial Day. My condolences to you and your family.

John, is this your Dad's mother? I ask, because I feel we know "PhotoDad" a little too. Thank you for sharing with us.

I did miss you around PR. It's good to have you back again.

    Liz

John, sorry for your loss. That's really great that you got out to see her over Memorial Day. Like Liz said, even at the age of 93 it still comes as a shock.

The image isn't coming up - please check this out. I'd like to see it because I'm sure it's a very special one.

    Re: Goodbye, Grandma

Sorry to hear that John. As others have said the power of memories are amazing. My grandmother passed a couple years ago. Sometimes I think about it and miss her, then i have to smile when thinking of her warm, friendly smile, and the way she told us stories on hot summer days while we enjoyed home made ice cream she would make for us. Those are the things that make life truly wonderful, and although I miss her, she is no longer suffering.

John I am with you brother. I lost my granny 2 years ago while I was living in Michigan. I had to listen in on her funeral over a cell phone. I am still not quite over the pain of losing her, and I know that it will be hard for you too.

My prayers go out to you and your family at this time...

When I first saw that image it was just the top and I thought, wow what a fitting tribute to grandma. Then I scrolled down and got a bit of a shock. I had no idea there was more image. I is quite a nice place to be forever I think.

    Re: Goodbye, Grandma

My sincerest condolences John. I recently lost my grandmother so I know what you are going through right now. I'm glad that you got to see her just before she passed. I was, like you, lucky enough to see my grandmother a few weeks before she passed away last October. The few pictures I got are my last memories of her as I was unable to make the funeral. And although they show her weak and frail...she was smiling and laughing and we had managed to get her up and outside for a little while and make a few of her final days very happy. I'm hoping that you have those types of memories of your last visit with your grandmother. You will be in my thoughts. Ken
