    Goodbye Kyocera/Contax/Yashica

It appears that Kyocera is ending production of all cameras, film and digital. Rumor has it that Contax might continue under a different owner. Sony?

Yes, I'm sorry to see the Contax and Yashica cameras go - although it does appear Contax will continue somewhere. I didn't know until now that Kyocera made Contax.

Kyocera is big into mobile phones.

Pity. My mother had a Yashica P&S zoom that she loved. It was the only camera she ever took decent photo's with. When it broke, she was told it would cost as much to fix it as it cost to buy it.

I hate to see any camera company stop producing camera's. Competition is a great thing, as is choice.
