    Going to B&H on Sunday!

Was going to go there on Saturday but they are CLOSED! Bizarre hours at the store in NYC. Hope they have some good deals! I need to find some portable lighting and backdrops since I do business head shots on location, and oddly, i've been asked many times to shoot singles photos for people who are going onto dating websites! If you're looking for side work, seems to be the wave of the future - casual head and full body shots for singles. Who knew?!

I believe the owners are Jewish and observe the Biblical Sabbath (Saturday) as well as all the traditional Jewish holidays. That's why they're closed on Sabbath

I've heard that Janie. That there's huge market for online dating headshots!

Woo hoo! So I made it out of BH without going over my budget! ;D I have a collapsible, very portable backdrop (the type that collapses into a little circle for easy carrying like the photoflex), I got the 5 in 1 multi-disc reflector, a really cool lens cleaner and brush pen, and canvas cloth paper (which looks awesome for landscape photos, I might add!).

So, I left there, got halfway home - I forgot to get the lights!

Talking I hate it when that happens.

Done things like that more than a few times with computer hardware, and B&H did it to me for the first time last week, forget to pack some items with an order. I had to call them on the last order, they forgot two bogen super clamps, one extender arm, and the 1200 watt Norman power supply for my new LH500 monolights. Should be in today or tomorrow.
BTW, if your collapsible backdrop has a white side to it, it makes a great large reflector for group photos at weddings-I use mine that way for outdoor wedding shoots. Just order the parts you forgot online, shipping is usually cheaper than the gas it takes to drive somewhere, at least it is here in the foothills of northern Cal. ;)
