    A day at the beach

Here are a few photos from our weekend "trip" down the street. It's very nice, but also very HOT!

Thanks Paul, but they have the nests marked at this beach... it's a wildlife refuge. They actually continue to lay eggs here through September! Here's another photo of Alex in his "tunnel".

MEMBERSHIP FEE ARE WAVED FOR YOU

but you MUST first photograph a BURROWING OWL ;)

when you can FIND and shoot me one(tiny in frame will be FINE) you're an OFFICIAL MEMBER

right now your welcome to come to meetings and SAY your a member, BUT the membership card comes with the BURROWING OWL

THE BEST places are MARCO ISLAND and CAPE CORAL, but if those are too far.......we(THE CANON BIRD NERDS) can accept a redshouldered hawk(they are everywhere) or crested caracara(hard to find) if your up near disney.

Can a Nikon guy send you one

I have the owls on three of my family's property in Cape Coral. Would it be all right taken with a Nikon instead of a Canon.

NIKON is fine(since my f100/80-200f2.8 CAN FILL the frame with one) BUT... your task at hand is

PREENING spoonbills in little estero lagoon

I found 15 pairs on FOOT in 20 minutes on CORANADO PARKWAY in CAPE CORAL ;)
you shooting them would be like asking a beach bum to shoot me a shell ;)

shooting nature is all about human nature! we are HUNTER GATHERERS BY NATURE!! you must HUNT DOWN a subject, then GATHER it's image

AH...WHO CARES! GO SHOOT ME SOME Athene cunicularia and your in!!!!

    Kristin,
Great fun shots. really like the last one as well. Didn't know you were such a bird nerd , too. I must admit, I'm an animal lover and was always interested in them and watch all nature shows etc. but was never interested in birds too much. . . . until, I started taking photos of them. It seemed to just open up a whole new world to me and a whole new appreciation for them. And they can really be a challenge to get good shots of, especially the smaller more active ones. Hope to see more
