Monarchs of the Moon!

I was out on my lunch at Corriganville park in Simi Valley the other day and they were doing some filming there (something that usually happens about once a month). So I got a couple pictures of the characters. I was actually in the way of the camera's view when I shot the fella in the suit. After I moved they began to film him running up the trail. Good thing they didn't yell at me.

I completely blotched the exposure on these but thought they were interesting. I did, however, manage to pull off a nice butterfly shot. I think this is an edith's checkerspot.
