    Colorado wedding

My trip was way to short but was highlighted by a wonderful evening with Brian(coloradoamigo) and his wife. I couldn't have felt more welcomed and at home. His wife isn't only lovely, friendly and warm---she was a fantastic cook. Brian was one of the most genuine-real- people I have met in a long time. I strongly encourage anyone who visits those parts to go knock on their door ;) I was so grateful to have an opportunity to get to know them.

These are a few pics from the wedding so far that I really like. It was a dessert reception so it wasn't very long...I had great difficulty with how strong the sun was at midday and mid afternoon...and the only place really available for shots was RIGHT IN FRONT of the church building the rest of the area was all hay and construction equipment(new building) so it was a little challenging. Overall shaded by the overhang it provided for some good shots...here's a few will post more later

the first one is my second favorite of any of the shots I've ever taken...( the first is the babay being thrown in the air by his dad) Enjoy

First shot is very cool! How many opportunities do you get to do something like that?! I've had a hard time getting a good sun star on digital - usually it's just a white blob, even when the same lens works great on film that way. Nice work as usual!

    ISO 200
    Center Metering
    f/22
    1/180th
using the kit lense at 18mm....

Sb800 for fill flash do not remember what settings?

PS work--rotated the shot two degrees CCW ,unsharpmasked it, and adjusted levels slightly and dodged their faces a little

    ;)
hope that helps--Glad you liked it...

My only opportnities is when I have a felxible easy going couple to work with and I can play around while they play kissy face

the only time I can get a good star is when I close it the lense down and shoot at 200 ISO...

then I just bring back the details with a levels adjustment. I'm sure there's probabaly a better way to do it...that's how I get it...
    ;) ;)

I suspected there was some PS involved to get those details!

    Thanks for the information.

And BTW, if you ever come to NC, you can play around a lot - Dawn and I love to play kissy face! (And we've been married for over 7 years now!)

I love the one of the happy couple kissing with the cross in the background. That is such an awesome shot....they all are, but that's my favourite!

    Right Back at ya Nat....

Thanks so much for the kind words. We certainly enjoyed having you over. As I said in the other thread, you are such a great person, wonderful and amazing (see Paul ). I hope that we are able to meet up again sometime in the near future. Thank you very much for being our guest for the evening. We both were very grateful to meet you as well.
Nat showed me some of these pics on the D70 while she was at our place, and we all knew that first one and third one were just fantastic, but I'm sure she got alot of great pics, under very tough conditions as well. I'm just glad the weather was good for her shoot. It certainly deteriorated very quickly that evening, as Nat can tell you.
    Great pics Natalie!!
    Regards,
    Brian

    Natalie,
You must think of yourself as an insignificant little blue star, when you are actually a very warm yellow sun. I can tell by how happy people are to have you photograph them!
    Great, great work,

I always enjoy getting genuine smiles from people and having them see themselves in the shots and not some stiff mannequin. thanks for your kind words.
