any one here have experience with mpix.com?

I'm getting ready to create an account with them but I would like some input before I make the plunge. We've haven't been very happy with the local printers here in the boonies of the Sierra foothills so I'm checking out the online printing services.
Thanks in advance for any input.

yes! I LOVE mpix.com!! In fairness, I've only ordered the metallic prints (11x14, 8x10 and 3.5x5) and I've been thrilled with the results, and would not hesitate to recommend them. ;o)

Thank you Nate. My order is going in right now.
These are 20x24 color prints on double weight matboard that we will display in the office reception area. The local printers can only print inkjet, and these have faded badly within a few months of displaying, so I wanted to get something more archival, and mpix seems to fit the bill, but I wanted some positive input from this forum first.

Same here - they're quick, prices are reasonable and the prints look great. Kodak Metallic Paper looks great with some shots, but you might try a small one to see what the effect is. It's hard to describe, but it's the closest thing I've seen to the look of a chrome on a light table.

We've discussed advantages/disadvantages to different color spaces here before and I'm not sure what color space you're using, but they only accept sRGB - so if you send them an Adobe RGB file the colors might not be quite right.

Love 'em...quick(QUICK) turn around time and my orders are always great quality...been using them for a little over a year now...I've ordered metallic prints...B/W...
wallets to 16 x20...always consistent qulaity

only set backs...there is no number they can be reached by...they only communicate via email....(usually responding within the hour...)

You can only order the same type of process under one order
(ex: B/W is one order colorne order and metallic ne order...you can not combine finishes or papaers)

the postive they have one flat fee 4.95 for unlimited quantity or 9.95 next day service

good luck---hope you enjoy 'em as much as I have
