Canon A70 - experience with add on lenses?

I have a Canon Powershot A70. In theory it supports additional lenses via an adapter,e.g. telephoto, wideangle, closeup. I am new to this forum and pretty new to photography. I'd like to get closer to distant subjects and to nearby subjects, i.e. animals and bugs. Anybody have experience using add-on lenses with the A series? Know a good maker? Have any advice? All suggestions welcome....

I have an older A series, the A40. I've got the adapter, but the only add-on I've used with it is a circular polarizer. It works well, but I'm afraid that is all I can answer of your question.

I'm in the same position right now... I've already ordered the 52mm adapter however.

I'm hoping to use some filters and perhaps wide angle and telephoto lenses, but it would be nice to hear what someone thinks about them first.

I'm just your average 'take a picture of this and that' type and don't know what f-whatever means, etc. but I'm willing to learn!
