    For those of you who are curious I metered this off the pitchers black shorts, not her white top.

    JS,

    Saw the comment on the metering off the shorts not the shirt, can you tell me how you do that. I am having the exposure problems when I run into this very issue.

    I like the pitcher shot as well..

    I use single spot center metering, get the metering off the exposure meter in the viewfinder and set it one stop over center. In many cases the white or the BG may get blown out, but I'd rather have more detail of the pitcher than worry about that. In this case the sun was perfect, gave just enough light to not blow anything out and still get the details.

    Since I haven't been shooting much on the sports end I haven't poked my nose much in here. I like to contribute. I'm still shooting, just different more family based orientated stuff.
