    The Girls Game....

Here are a few from the girls softball game earlier this week. Very hard field to shoot at high fence all around except in the outfield and no out of bounds room at all inside fence. I stood on the top of a bleacher near first base at the end of the dugout for all these shots. Not great but they are what they are. First soft ball of the season for me. My niece who is a freshman plays on this team so I hope to be at a few more games.

OT, won't they ;et you shoot from the dugout? Thats where I shot from yesterday. Of course the only other choice would be to set up a ladder and stand on it , and then I'd be in the outfield as the bullpens are both next to the dugouts. The entire fence except the area where fans are allowed is closed off with heavy blue tarps so you can't shoot through it..
You did very well though considering the limits you had.

BTW, can they mark off an area for you inside? They could have done that for me yesterday but the coach was too lazy to do it.....

Dugouts have chain link fence in front of them as well. The girls field was an after thought and they put it in a very tight spot where an old football practice field use to be and didn't leave hardly any foul ground at all. I think I will do the step ladder deal the next time I shot there. I guess having to deal with these kind of situations just makes us more innovative and better in the long run.

When I shoot from the dugout I am always in the doorway so there is no fence. What bites is you have much more chance getting injured at baseball, but it's softball where they are over protective. I'm used to being hit by hockey pucks so a baseball or softball aren't so bad

You got some nice shots OT with all of that fencing in your way!

Only girls are tough enough to slide in the dirt with shorts on.

Great to hear from you JETA! Thanks for the compliments but that afternoon was not my finest hour. And I agree about the sliding in shorts a guy is way to smart to do that. Just don't understand that uniform choice for softball when these girls are as aggressive as they are and play as hard as they do.

Been hoping to seen some pics of your sons baseball. How is he doing in college and are you going to get us any pictures? Stay in touch.

    HI OT!

Considering your limitations I think your pics are great.

No baseball pics to post. My son ended up injured and then decided to red shirt. Even if he didn't get injured red shirting was a smart move. His team won their conference undefeated with 8 games still left to play. So they were hardly pulling guys out of the bull pen.

This summer he should be seeing a lot of field time. When he isn't traveling I'm hoping to get a lot of pics in then.

Sorry to hear about the injury but if it is not very serious than the red shirt was probably a very good idea. My daughter tore an ACL before the season started her 1st year and did a medical redshirt. Which worked out OK the school paid for a full 5 years that way.
