OC/RC race track

My fisrt time trying to shoot RC.
I took horrible shoots, not good light and no Flash.

If some has done this tell me what setup should I use?
Canon 7D with the stock lens 28-125mm

That looks fun!! Have you tried or thought of pre-focusing on the part of the jump you are shooting at? I couldn't imagine trying to follow and focus on one of those things!!

You are right next time I will try it.
and try a different lens since the one I have is not that good for low light conditions.

Try not to get the lights in the shot.
They will make the average scene brighter, and the camera's meter will under-expose the car.
Or meter the exposure on the ground, then set that manually so that the lights have no effect.
