Photography As Art Forum

This forum is for artists who use a camera to express themselves. If your primary concern is meaning and symbolism in photography, then you've come to the right place. Please respect other community members and their opinions when discussing the meaning of "art" or meaning in images. If you'd like to discuss one of your photos, please upload it to the photo gallery, and include a link to that gallery page in your post. Moderators: Irakly Shanidze, Megan, Asylum Steve

Photography is art in any ways...it's allways something new on it and specific from others. You can see and feel a lot from pictures.

It is true that a photo never speaks but it has a power to generate filings silently in your heart and mind. For example when we arranged any important occasion like marriage where we need a wedding photographer like RJ Harris Photography who was take photos on my marriage occasion and I get him through their site milwaukeeweddingphotos.net. We need to take photos not for as memory also it creates such filings which it has. When I saw my marriage photos I have gained that fillings which I had on my past marriage days.

we can't listen the photo's voice but photo always explain us, what it want to say, So I think there is no need to photo say anything.

Yes a pic should talk to its =viewers because if it doesn't then the pic is nothing more then a random design or drawing on a piece of paper .

Re: Does a photo need to say something?

Actually, I think that we need 2 types of photos:
    1-with the message
    2-just a picture
I don't think that each photo should have a special message. For example if we have a photo of night city life. This is simply a good picture, but no special messages in it.
If we have a photo from the war with a child, for example, this is not just a photo. I think that everyone will see the message.

may be or may be not.....
    my opinion is
1.the photo without message should have to pull the eyes in by some attraction. it should wonder the viewers
2.there is no extraordinary photographic work is needed when great message stands in a photo

Absolutely yes! A photo should create something that its kinda unique for us to see. It should have a great influence to the viewers and so images must be meaningful.

Photographyfacts‬ : During film photography era back in 1820s, early cameras would take several hours to actually capture a picture. Unlike today, photography portrait sessions lasted long hours. With the long exposure technique, photographing adult people was still okay but when it came to photographing children, things turned even more difficult. To take portraits of kids, most of the times mothers had to sit all covered and disguised as chair holding their babies.

The quality of the material can be seen in the pictures, here I have an example of that, I was clicking a picture of a steel building made by https://zentnersteelbuildings.com. l, and the clarity of the picture was exactly same as of the material. I want to share this picture but unfortunalty the forum will not perrmit me for this.
