    PhotoShop Actions

I was curious if there's a good site out there that has (free) downloadable PS Actions?

Being a relative PS novice, I've been trying to figure out how to create actions, or at the very least, find some actions that fit what I want/need them to do. Shooting the D100 has become both a blessing and a curse! I get almost instant gratification in seeing the image immediately, but I'm finding that all the post production work is a bit daunting, especially when I have 300+ images to resize, adjust contrast and zap with a little USM...

Thanks in advance for the info!

    Hi Brian,

Strange, but I answered this yesterday...

I would look into this tool:

    http://www.breezebrowser.com/downloads.htm

It will do everything you ask and more. They have a trial version you can check out too. Then you can just use photoshop for the real stuff.

    Brian,

WHY in all that is holy are you post-processing all those images???

Browse for the ones you like, ween out the duds from there, and only work on the ones that you are left with. Processing every image is a huge waste of time, unless you are using every single one of those images of course.

Actions are easy! Go to the actions palette, click the little document icon in the bottom of it to make a new action, and do stuff. The stuff gets recorded. After you are done, click on stop. Click on record if you want to add more to it.

    Treat it like a VCR.

How to tell the most experienced shooter in a group? They have the least amount of toys on them.

    SWEET!!

    Thanks Sebastian!!!

And no, I'm not working on all those images, but I bet I still have over 100 that I am considering doing work on and would like to share either here or in my WebShots albums.

Thanks again for explaining how to "record" actions. Someday maybe I should dig out the PS7 manual and try reading it!

    Checked it out...

And it looks like a pretty good photo browsing and editing program.

    Thanks for the suggestion Mike!

Play with it a while, it's pretty powerful. It's also good to know that cntrl-d opens up images in whatever editor you want. Just choose that editor (PS) in the preferences. It may have defaulted there already.

BTW, I knew what you meant by 300+ images. I'll still print out a "roll(s)" of shots of fun events, vacations, etc. I use "proofs" in breezebrowser to resize, sharpen, and increase contrast (levels). Then download them to a local shop and pick them up the next day. For stuff like this, especially, this is less expensive and less time consuming.

    I hope you enjoy it.
