    Winter Sunset

    On the way home tonight.

First shot I've posted from my new Panasonic FZ20. ISO 200, Manual Exposure, f2.8 1/40th zoomed to 436mm (35mm equiv) High res jpeg. Next time I shoot something this dark I'll save it as a tiff because I had quite a bit of artifacts.

Beautiful sunset Chunk!!! I love the barn and silo silhouette along with the colors of the sky. I would like to see a little more detail in the shadows in the FG tho. Maybe cropping the bottom of the photo off a bit would keep me from wondering what's there. Great first post with your new toy!

I really love photo. I'm always looking for a chance like this one. Since you were lucky enough to have some nice objects in the FG, it would be nice to see a little more of them. I would like to know if adding a little brightness would help.

It's a privilege to be there at the right time.

Thanks Michael and Eagle Eye for taking the time to look and comment. The original does have a bit more detail in the farmstead. I've tried to bring it out a little more in this version for posting.

    Re: Winter Sunset

The second version is much better as the complete black silhouette of the bottom in the first was distracting from the magnificent sky. Personally, I would like to see just a tad more detail in the bottom but not too much. Keeping the silos dark but lightening a little to the immediate left and right of the barn.

    Nice capture.

Chunk, Great image!. . I like this alot. Sedcond edit the ticket. As Tuna stated, if you coulkd tweak out just a tad more detail, wow. but as it is now, i like it very much as the sky is awesome and I can make out what is in the foreground. well done. btw. . .always save in tiff you never know. . . get a larger memory card if you must!

    Re: Winter Sunset

    Really good sunset.
I like the edited version better, that extra detail is just enough as it is.
Though when printed I guess the original wouldn't look quite like it does on my monitor.
